AXIUM consultants use systematic analysis in accordance with key performance indicators to measure the potential risks posed by existing systems, equipment and processes. We benchmark our findings against standards within a given industry sector using an OEE Standard Calculation (Overall Equipment Efficiency or Overall Equipment Effectiveness). This provides a single metric to measure the throughput, availability, and quality of production equipment.
AXIUM employs the OEE rating (the top level indicator of performance) to measure a production asset. Off the shelf software, then provide extensive analysis tools to drill into the causes of low OEE ratings.
Data acquisition software provides much flexibility in setting up the OEE calculation. You can use a default of always a single data point or a complex formula to provide information on:
• Availability - A control value and/or a defined plant schedule.
• Throughput - Total part counts, ideal cycle time, and actual run time.
• Quality - The Part Count field must be the sum total of production less and rejected units.
